Is there a Jimm app for iPhone (iOS)?

There is no official Jimm app for iPhone/iOS yet — the App Store does not allow running Java ME (JAR) apps or third-party Java emulators the way Android does, so the original client cannot simply be ported as-is. We are currently building a separate iOS app that recreates Jimm as closely as possible: the same interface, contact list, statuses, message sounds, and a UIN/password connection to the icq.jimm.online server. The goal is not a stripped-down “ICQ-style” app, but a faithful reconstruction of the original Jimm experience, adapted to the iPhone screen and App Store rules. Until development is finished, iPhone users can use the web widget on the site at https://jimm.online directly in Safari with no installation — it offers a similar feature set: UIN login, chat, and a contact list. Follow development status, test builds, and the iOS release date in the project blog, including any TestFlight beta announcements.

Why Jimm cannot simply be ported to iPhone

Jimm is a Java ME (JAR) application, and iOS does not support running JAR files or third-party Java emulators through the App Store the way Android does. That means the client cannot be ported as-is — a separate native app with the same behavior has to be built from scratch.

What's already available on iPhone today

While the iOS version is in development, iPhone users can use the web widget on https://jimm.online directly in Safari — no installation required, with UIN login, a contact list, and chat. It is not a full replacement for a native app, but it is a working way to stay connected from your phone.
