You can change your email in your profile — open the profile, find the “Change email” section, enter the new address, and click the button. No email confirmation is required: the new email is applied immediately. The only restriction is that the email must be unique, meaning it cannot already be used by another account. The email is needed for signing in to the dashboard and for password recovery, so it is important to provide a current address you have access to. The ICQ account (UIN) itself does not change when you change your email — friends still find you by UIN or nickname.
You need a client, a new UIN, and correct server settings. Use QIP 2005 for Windows, Jimm JAR for a feature phone, or J2ME Loader on Android with the same JAR file.
Jimm is for real Java phones and mobile ICQ nostalgia. QIP is useful for first testing because desktop errors are easier to see and settings are faster to change.
