Is there a Jimm extension for the browser?

Yes. Jimm has a browser extension. It is available for Chrome in the Chrome Web Store and for Firefox in Firefox Add-ons. The extension opens the contact list and chat in a drop-down window when you click its icon on the browser toolbar. With the window closed it keeps receiving messages: the icon blinks and shows the unread count, a sound plays and a notification appears. There are two themes, Jimm and QIP. To get started, open https://jimm.online/en/extension, install the extension and sign in with your UIN and password. If you don’t have a UIN yet, register on https://jimm.online. The extension runs in a desktop browser; on a phone, use Jimm for Android.

What the extension does

The extension shows the contact list and chat in a drop-down window when you click its icon on the browser toolbar. It keeps receiving messages after you close the window: the icon blinks and shows the unread count, a sound plays and a notification appears. The theme, Jimm or QIP, is switched by the tabs at the top.

How to install the extension

Open https://jimm.online/en/extension and pick your browser, Chrome or Firefox, to open the extension’s store page. Add the extension, pin its icon to the browser toolbar and sign in with your UIN and password.
