The password must be 6 to 8 characters long and may contain Latin letters and digits only. Uppercase letters and special characters are not required, and special characters, spaces and non-Latin letters are not allowed at all. These rules apply to registration, password reset, and changing your password in the profile. If you forgot your password, click “Forgot password?” in the login dialog, enter the email used during registration — a reset link will be sent to it. Follow the link and enter a new password. The password is changed on both the website and the ICQ server at the same time, so after resetting you can immediately sign in to Jimm or QIP with the new password. You can also change your password without resetting it — in your profile, under “Change password”. When changing, you need to provide the current password and the new one. After a change or reset, all previous sessions are closed and a new token is issued, so you will need to sign in again on other devices.
You need a client, a new UIN, and correct server settings. Use QIP 2005 on Windows, macOS, and Linux, the Jimm JAR on a feature phone, Jimm from Google Play on Android, or, with nothing to install, the web client, the browser extension, or the Telegram Mini App.
Jimm is for real Java phones and mobile ICQ nostalgia. QIP is useful for first testing because desktop errors are easier to see and settings are faster to change.
