Can I use ICQ right in the browser without installing anything?

Yes. The web client at https://jimm.online/icq lets you sign in with your UIN and password and get a contact list, classic ICQ statuses, chat, and a new-message sound without downloading any software. It is a real ICQ session on the icq.jimm.online server, so people can message you from Jimm, QIP, and old clients while you reply from the browser. Once you are signed in on the site, there is also a QIP-style "My messages" section: a chat window, contact list, smileys, and a typing indicator. The web client works on desktop and in mobile browsers, including Safari on iPhone. If you want ICQ to stay online when the tab is closed, install the Jimm extension for Chrome or Firefox, or the Jimm app from Google Play on Android.

When to install a client instead
